DANDELIONS
Dandelions
Every morning as I gather my thoughts,
Listening for The Holy Spirit’s Words.
I sit across to my Prayer Altar,
Staring out of my window in wonder.
Today, I did not start my ritual early,
But that was because of busy-busy me.
I took care of everything and came here
For my precious Holy Spirit encounter.
Then looking through the window as I sat
I saw the yellow garnish on the grassy mat
Dandelions in full bloom conversing in sunshine
Radiant yellow brilliant and so fine
The bane of every Gardener
And the pain of every Homeowner
These yellow beauties are not so bad
And they are no reason to get mad
Roses have thorns and fragrant beauty
Sweet honey comes with a stinging Bee
But the Lord in Creation made all good
Even poison can be made into food
Dandelions though classified as weeds
Cater to some medicinal needs
Also, the leaves do garnish some salads
Nourishing well-honed nutrition fads
I pray that the wisdom of God’s Creation
Will come to me in His gracious revelation.
Lord, let my day proceed with open eyes
In humble grace under your open skies.
Amen & Amen
