Potential

In Science, Man is classified zoologically as Homo sapiens, which in classical Latin refers to a wise creature. This is not out-of-place since mankind is endowed with unfathomable levels of memory and also a practitioner of sciences; both scholarly and mundane. Man is found to be gifted with an inquisitiveness that can only modestly be described as 'intelligent'.

He is enveloped in an 'aura' of disck(kernment' right from the womb. Every second of his life is a neuro-scientific wonder, as he builds layers of experience through a cascade of assembly, dismantles, and explorations. The Homo sapiens is one of several species grouped into the genus to which all modern human beings belong. And through adaptation, innovation, learning, industry, and survival Man has come through an obscure ancestral past with a well-earned legacy of intelligence.

I call the legacy 'a bag of tricks'. Not to sound demeaning though, allow me to use a word that brings out the true value of this possession. It is a much shorter word and packs explosive value. Mankind is not usually destructive, and this reflects the nature of Homo Sapiens to seek good things in life, the word is 'Potential'. Man's potential is typically cloaked in mystery. But, just as a seed lies in seemingly endless wait under a pile of soil before it erupts to glorify nature with the softest tenderest sprout of life, so the embryonic Homo sapiens springs from a  40

-week gestation with a cry!

As the newborn fulfills every law of potential with trial, experience, learning, mastery, or failure, so does the embryonic seed, an example of steps of potential fulfilled, thrive in its new-found environment. We all are different by characteristics and classifications, yet we are unified at the table of Life. On this table is an overlaying tapestry of many colors. If the colors represent who we now individually portray, the Table signifies what unifies us: the beauty of a life that the Almighty crafted. After-all, we did not lift a finger or contribute any thought to this exquisite design ab initio (whenever that was).

No matter our typifying characteristic, label, designation, or elevation in Life, individually we are dressed in 'borrowed robes' which cover our true natures. Each individual true nature thrives in 'potential'. Not of color, aroma, or taste, but a potential dressed in true color: The color Black, ready to take on another's potential in synergy, black synergizes in humility. This exemplifies the ingenuity of the only wise Artist, the Designer, the Almighty, in creating each one of us for potential. No one is perfect. To assume perfection is to stop growth. We are like Jigsaw puzzles. we need others to fulfill the big picture. You and I have 'openings', 'gaps', and needs that others can fit with a provision. That provision sets a stage for a 'sprouting', one which was destined in the primordial clock of Nature and wrapped in the womb of Time.

I wanted a pictorial depiction of the concept of potential, true to the tradition of the WORDKRAFTER and I chose a rendition of the famous sculpture by Auguste Rodin, named The Thinker (In French: Le Penseur). It was Max Erhman the Philosopher who endeared us to the word 'pense'. He wrote and I quote: "Je pense,
donc Je Suis  " meaning, "I think therefore I am." In Latin: "Cogito, Ergo Sum".

Cast in 1904, the sculpture sits in the Gardens of the Rodin Museum in Paris

I would rather let the ticking of my primordial clock take me closer to a sprouting of my potential as I seek out those at the table of Life than wander from the table without a 'color' of inspiration, advice, or synergy.
